Red River Regional Council Program Areas
The Red River Regional Council (RRRC) provides support through a variety of services to meet the needs of the people and businesses in North Dakota's Planning Region IV. RRRC does projects in the following program areas:
Community Development
Efforts in this program area are related to public facilities, housing, hazard mitigation, and historic preservation.
Economic Development
Projects related to economic development include assistance to
communities, organizations and businesses seeking funds to make improvements and expand. The Small Business Development Center,
Pembina County Job Development Authority, and Nelson County Job Development Authority are important entities to economic
development efforts through the RRRC.
Resource Conservation and Development
This program area works to create new opportunities in
agriculture, employment and area conservation and development.
Hazard Mitigation
Efforts in this program area offer assistance in many forms, such as helping
families whose homes have a history of flood damage and assisting local fire departments with grant applications for new
equipment.
Historic Preservation
For projects in this area, the RRRC works closely with the
Pembina County Historic Preservation Commission and the Walsh County Historic Preservation Commission.
Housing
This program area is targeted at providing suitable and safe housing
environments for low to moderate income people in the Region.
Public Facilities
Projects in this program area are focused on vital needs for community
infrastructure, such as water lines, lift stations, water towers, lagoons, streets and other factors.
Riparian
The goal of this program area is to directly assist and educate landowners about the restoration, protection, and effective management of riparian areas within the Red River Basin.
