Press RElease: Pembina County Job Development Authority to Sponsor Innovate ND Teams in Pembina County
October 2009 – Pembina County, North Dakota -- The Pembina County Job Development Authority announced that it will be sponsoring Innovate ND teams from Pembina County to encourage entrepreneurship and new business development.
Innovate ND is an annual state-wide initiative designed to help entrepreneurs turn business ideas into viable new North Dakota business ventures. The cost to enroll is $100 per team. For the first 10 entrepreneur teams to enroll from Pembina County, the Pembina County Job Development Authority will sponsor $50 of that enrollment cost.

The Pembina County Job Development Authority focuses its efforts on creating new jobs by helping businesses develop and grow in Pembina County. By supporting Innovate ND and the entrepreneurs in our county, the Pembina County Job Development Authority hopes to see business ideas become a reality and create new jobs down the road.
By enrolling in Innovate ND, entrepreneur teams gain access to online entrepreneur education, business planning tools and coaching and mentoring from successful entrepreneurs and business owners. Entrepreneurs work over the course of several months to use these tools to develop a plan for their business. The top 20 entries present their business idea to a panel of potential investors. Up to five $10,000 cash prizes will be awarded plus a variety of in-kind business services.

Innovate ND was launched in 2006 by the North Dakota Department of Commerce in partnership with the Governor’s office, the Center for Innovation and the NDSU Research and Technology park. Its primary functions are to provide entrepreneur education and support to help people turn business ideas into profitable ventures and to help entrepreneurs gain access to business financing.
About the Pembina County Job Development Authority
The Pembina County Job Development Authority was formed in 1991 by Pembina County Commissioners after the 1990 State legislature passed a law allowing counties and cities to establish Job Development Authorities. The purpose of the Pembina County Job Development Authority is to enhance and diversify the county’s economy. This diversity is aimed to reverse population decline in the county.
